About “AMANTES”

In this new work I decided to write about love. while it would be impossible to express all of the emotions

that word conjures; it allowed for a bounty of choices. one simply has to examine one’s life. The work is at

once programmatic and biographical. It reflects my musings on love as a young adult, love in the “3rd Chapter” as a 50-something, and finally youthful love, as an adolescent. The music floats through clouds of emotions that can often be timid, coy, sultry and outright explosive.  The canvas of these musings along with a pallet of violins, cello and flute, instruments known for their human-like timbres, made for a composer’s paradise.
